So here I am almost a year after the last post on this blog. I wish I could have written more on here, but that didn't happen. I have no way to put pictures up on here. Crappy as it sounds, it's the truth. It's amazing how much a computer that over heats in 30 minutes (10 minutes is the record) can affect you. Especially the things you need and want to do. One day I'll have this all figured out. Until then, I'll just use Instagram. If you want to see more follow @geisha_neko . There will be art and things I'm working on at the moment. Also search @TheMuleDesigns on Facebook. See you there until I get this figured out.

Exciting News!
I'm going to Hong Kong! Yep, that's right! I just found out yesterday. It's so crazy how everything has worked out.
Since the last time I wrote, a lot has happened. I mentioned that Parker had an appendectomy and not two weeks later, my sister had one. What-the-what? And Amber's pregnant so that complicated things a bit. The doctors didn't want to believe that one of her younger brothers just had one, too. But they did tell her that appendicitis is hereditary. Something good to know for future reference.
Mom stayed behind to help out in Amber's house while Dad and I had to go back so I could go to the doctor. (This was all happening the beginning of September.) This was the doctor visit that determined I could go to Hong Kong. All I had to do was send in some things to my Stake President and the him to Salt Lake City.
A couple of weeks later Mom, Dad, Parker, and I went back to Amber and Greg's. Dad had gone early for work and so the rest of us decided to go down to watch the kids play Tee-Ball. On the way home, Dad and I were in his work car and Mom and Parker were in her car. We were on a toll-way which allows you to go 85 mph. It was night time and all Dad saw were two shadows and WHAM! The airbags all went off and Dad was able to get to the side of the road. He thinks that we hit a javelina. It's a kind of warthog. Dad ended up with a bruised thumb and I got bruised knees. My face would have also been bruised if it weren't for my pillow in front of my face. I was moving it when the javelina hit the car. How do I know this? There's a burnt line on the pillow. Yikes and phew.
Then just a couple weeks ago, Greg strained his back. It was so bad that he couldn't move around. Amber thought that she would be fine on her own, but she called Mom to have me come down to help her. So I stayed down there for a week to help her out. While I was there we saw Beauty and the Beast on stage. Amber had been planning on going with Annabelle and Mom, and since I was still in town, why not me too? It was fun. Two songs were taken out and one added in. It was nice to see it again.
This is also when Mom told me what was going on with my letter back to Salt Lake City. Turns out they never got it. And then when it got to the right person it didn't have enough information. So we had to call the doctor to get a different letter. That took four days of calling and no return calls. That wasn't fun. But once we got it, we turned that baby in.
And waited.
We weren't sure how long it would take but we finally got word yesterday! The Stake President told us then that they thought I would leave on the 21st (Tuesday), but today we got other news. I'll be leaving early in the morning on the 20th! Woah! I'm going to be a missionary again! It's so surreal to me at the moment. I don't know if it'll really hit me until I'm set apart again. But I can't wait. I hope that my Mandarin hasn't digressed too much, but I'm sure the Lord will help. Gah, I can't wait. Hopefully I'll get someone to post e-mails and photos here on my blog. But if you want a hand written letter give me those addresses. ;)

It Begins...
I have finally been to all the classes that I will be taking this semester. To be completely honest, I had a semi-meltdown the first day. It was very quiet and I don't think that my roommates even knew about it. I guess a lot of things caught up with me. I believe that a lot of it was caused by my mild depression. Although I have never been diagnosed, I know that I don't have to be 'officially' diagnosed. I know when something doesn't feel right.
Anyway, a lot of the meltdown did deal with the whole money side of going to school. I really don't feel like I have accomplished a whole lot during the summer. I wasn't able to get a job or my license. I can't tell you how many times that I've felt like that I've been mooching off of my parents and people I know. All that guilt ways you down. That will change soon, hopefully. I'm desperately looking for a job and I have applied for five at the moment. I have only heard back from one saying no, but there is another I want to apply for. I just need to finish some steps before I can do that. I will get that done in the next couple days.
I do have good news in all of this gloom. Financial aid is a lot faster since a new law has been passed. I've accepted the loan and am now waiting for disbursement. ^^ I have also made my major official. I'm an English major. What am I going to do with that? Get myself published! I did think of doing something with art as a minor but as I walked over to the building I stopped half-way. I'm not sure why. I just know that I didn't need the minor. Maybe it's a good thing. After this semester I will only need three more semesters and an internship. You read that right! I should be graduated either before or in 2012 depending if I do Summer and Spring terms. I might have to. We'll see. ;)
This semester will have a lot of reading to do. All of my classes have reading assignments; and all but two have some kind of paper(s). It will be fun. I also have four novels to read this semester. Three for one English and one for the other English course. I should be able to get a lot of it done on Tues. and Thurs. though. I only have one class on those days. However, that means I'm in class on Mon. and Wed. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with an hour break. I'm hoping it will actually be shorter since the class at the end is a lab for sewing; and we all know how fast I can sew. Getting a job on top of all of this might be murder but I will definitely try!
That's the semester in a nutshell. It should be crazy, busy but fun. Wish me luck!

A Pretty Big Decision
We know that I'm not usually one to share my feelings about personal matters often. I fear that's because I don't want to come off as whiny or prideful. I also don't like it when I make other people worry about me. I don't want to put anyone in that kind of situation. I know that I'm insecure and have times when depression wins. I don't want to put anyone in a situation that requires them to help me. I absolutely hate the fact that mom and dad pay for my housing. I want to remedy this, I really do; but what can you do when nobody wants you for an open job position? So I continue to try and hope that the folks don't have to worry so much about it.
Now back onto the topic. Recently I've been overcome with feelings of deciding if a mission is the best course for me. I decided to really think about it the last fast Sunday. I wasn't getting a strong impression during church and it wasn't until walking back with a roommate that I decided to re-read my patriarchal blessing. I don't know how much I should go into detail but I know from it that I will serve when I am married. I am also told be willing when that time comes. Reading this I was impressed that a mission isn't for now. Even right now I know that this decision is right. I keep asking myself if it's fear making the decision and I get a flat-out 'No' to that question. And when this answer comes I'm also reminded of my health. Bad feet, knees, and back. I have to take care of these.
I know that my Heavenly Father will still love me if I don't go right now. He shows me this by answering another major decision in my life. I continually ask if Animation is the right course for me. The last time I asked this I received a calming feeling. "This is your year," I was told. I know this now. Now it is up to me to make the best of this revelation. I will show my love for Him by accepting this and doing the best I can. I will focus my energies to making the best portfolio that I can. I won't be timid when drawing other people in public. I will do my best to blow the department's socks off. In order to do this though, I will have to stop doing crafts until I submit my portfolio. I want to focus myself and not distract myself. I will have plenty of time for crafts over the summer when I open an Etsy shop. (Yes, finally.) I suppose there won't be much to see on this blog until then but at least you all will know why. Wish me luck. =)
