Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I love midnight showings. I love seeing all the people dressed up and going with family, or friends, to something we all love. What I don't like are idiot teenagers. You know that some of them were there just to be there, and others just to ruin the movie. Like the idiot who yelled an obligatory at the end of the movie. M.O.R.O.N.

Parker and I decided to dress up. We wanted to have fun with it. Zak thought we were just being crazy. xD You can see from the picture that Parker came up this idea for a t-shirt and I executed it. Isn't it great? xD He had lots of fun with it. Oh! And you can finally see the new scarf I finished. It's my first knitting project and I think it turned out great. ^^


I loved it. I think it was the best one yet. Sure there were changes but that it too be expected. I mean, you can't fit everything from a +600 pg. book to a 2 1/2 hr. long movie. It's just not going to happen. I think that the director kept everything that needed to be kept and left out things that were necessary. (Skip next sentences if you don't want to be mildly spoiled.) The only scene that I hoped that would be in there was the funeral. I think there would have been more closure.

The movie was a lot funnier than I expected. Parker and I particularly thought that the Felix scenes were the funniest. Of course there were other things that were pretty funny. The interactions between Harry and Ginny or Ron and Hermione were funny at times. The way the relationships were built were a little different. Especially between Remus and Tonks. Only one scene with them both and Tonks calls him sweety or honey. I can't remember which.

I loved this movie. It makes me even more excited to see the next two. The same director decided to carry on with it, and that makes me super happy. I like how he interprets the books into the movies. Go see it. You'll have soo much fun. ^^

More Charms

I've made quite a few charms again. I was just going to make a few things but more ideas came up. The newest Harry Potter movie will be coming out in 12 days (Wooh!) so that sparked eight of the charms. Skin is a hard color to get right and hard to paint around the hair. Well, really it's the hair that causes the painting trouble. So next time I'm getting a hold of skin color Sculpey to make people. I'm totally going to put these on a bracelet and wear them to the next movie. xP


These are some random charms. Taylor came up with the idea of doing a shark. That's why that one is there. xD The others are sushi, Luma, Heartless, cat, gyoza, and a koi fish. The koi took a while to sculpt but I think it was worth it. The next time I do animals like the cat, I'm going to paint the eys on instead to make it cuter. I don't think I like the big eyes.


Here are some Steampunk jewelry. Amber wants to do an Etsy store and told me that we should name our store A&M. I automatically thought of clocks and she thought of radios. Oh well. xD I went along with the theme and created and gear necklace. The clocks can be worn as earrings to complete the steampunk look.

Train Show

Here's the train show that I went to with Nett, Gma, and the kids last Saturday. It was fun. I was wrong about one thing though. Grandpa didn't have a train table built. He claims that he doesn't have room for it, but I think he could. ;) One day, Grandpa. I want to see your hard work.

There were several train tables that were set up. One was the Hostlers of course, but sadly I didn't take any pictures of that. Don't ask me why; I don't know. But I did get pictures of the LEGO train table and of the Harry Potter train table. The LEGO one was huge and definitely gathered the most attention. It's made of several train sets all put together. The Harry Potter one showcases the world of Harry Potter (duh). It had Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, the train station, and more. I liked it a lot. I sure had fun.

I'll Always Have Harry With Me

Isn’t he cute? I found this pattern online for the body of the plushie and decided that I wanted to make Harry since I had the fabric. I started making him on Saturday and just finished today. I could’ve finished yesterday, but there’s this thing called church. =D

Anyway, he was fun to make. My back hurts like none other though. Since I choose fabrics that could fray I had to hem EVERYTHING; and I mean EVERYTHING. I had to hem most of it by hand, too. Most of the holes were too small for the sewing machine to get to. His cloak and vest comes off revealing a white dress shirt and tie. It’s so cute. >w<

Fabrics: Some kind of linens (white and black), old khaki pants (skin), felt (hair), and some other type of fabric (yellow and red).

Face: Acrylic paint.

Glasses: Wire and black yarn wrapped around it.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Spoiler Alert)

Yes. I am going to spoil as much as I like here since I can’t talk about it at home. My mother thinks she’s going to read it all even though she has already read the Epilogue. *sigh*

This is my favorite book of the series. It moves fast and shows more things of the Wizarding World. I found Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore’s history intriguing. (I just had to say his full name.) Who knew that he had such a power-hungry history. I’m glad that he eventually saw his flaw, and decided to just be Headmaster at Hogwarts. Such a wise man.

One thing I do wish is that I should have put more trust into Severus Snape. I wasn’t sure what to think of him after he killed Dumbledore, but now I know Dumbledore would’ve died within the year anyway. Snape knew this as well. I do feel bad about the way he died. It was so cruel. Just imagining Nagini biting him like that… *shivers*

I’ve got to say that the hunt for the Horcruxes took a long time. I don’t blame Harry, Ron, or Hermione for not knowing where they were. Voldemort, or should I say Tom Riddle, is a difficult person to understand. Some of the horcruxes were found by shear luck most of the time, especially the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw. If Tom wasn’t so stupid, then maybe the trio wouldn’t have found it. I mean, his stupidity was really shown when he got angry and let himself be known to Harry.

All in all, I liked this book a lot. There’s so much revealed in it. I especially love the Epilogue. I like how it shows that Ron and Hermione get together, as well as Harry and Ginny. I also liked the names of Harry and Ginny’s kids: James, Albus Severus, and Lily. It showed the love and respect Harry had for these people.

July: The Month of Harry Potter

As the month of July goes on, the hype for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows increases. The madness is clearly shown as people in Alaska are already in line for the last installment. They already have their copy reserved, but they are willing to wait 4 more days until it comes out. Now, I am a huge fan of the series, but I’m not going to wait that long for a book that I’ve already reserved. That’s just silly.

For me, I’m happy that I’ll be able to spend time with my sister when we go to Borders to pick up our copies. I will finally get to experience a real Harry Potter party. I don’t get to stay in a line a Wal*Mart and just sit there and wait. I’ll actually be able to do stuff while waiting. My sister has said that Borders will hold a trivia contest, make your own wand, eat chocolate frogs, and much more. And I will be one of those fools that will dress up for it.

Earlier this month, the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix came out. I wasn’t able to see it on the 11th, but I still was able to see it. A couple of my friends and I did go on the 13th because it was reading day for finals. Only one of my friends had the guts to dress up with me. (It’s the same outfit I’ll where when I get my copy of HPDH.) They were suppose to hold another costume contest, but we never got our pictures taken. Which was frustrating because my friend made her hair into an afro like Professor Trelawney. It was hilarious.

I did like the movie. It’s my favorite of the movie series so far. I understand why they deleted things and kept certain things, like Kreacher for instance. J. K. Rowling actually told the script writers and director to keep Kreacher in. She basically said that he would be important in the sixth and seventh movies, and wouldn’t tell how he was important. I thought that was interesting. In my family there’s this debate that he is somehow involved with knowing the location of the locket horcrux. In the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a locket is mentioned briefly in 12th Grimmauld Place. My sister and I are both like, ‘Use your brain, Harry! It’s there!’ But who knows? Only J. K. Rowling knows, and we’ll soon know in 4 more days.

Do Internet Users Really Think They Can Save Harry?

It seems like people will do anything these days, especially since we have the internet. To me, I find this whole thing pointless. Why should we force a writer to do more than what they want to do? They have their own freewill. The Telegraph has posted a story on how internet users are petitioning for J.K. Rowling to not kill of Harry Potter via chain mail. The Telegraph gives us an example of Sherlock Holmes and how he came back from the dead. What? Why? I think if the author wishes to kill a character, then they should. I don’t think that we should be able to demand so much on someone over their creative power. The part that strikes me is that J.K. Rowling is now saying, “Never say never.” She so adamantly said that she would make any more Harry Potter books after the seventh installment; but now she says there might be more to do with Hogwarts. To me, Hogwarts wouldn’t seem the same without Harry and his friends. There’s already something missing with Dumbledore gone. I don’t know. Maybe this is me just ranting, but I feel like I had to. *sighs with relief* Woo…

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

If anyone knows me, they know I’m a Harry Potter fanatic. I’ll admit it. I’m not going to deny my love for the magical world.

Right now, I am increasingly growing more and more impatient waiting for the newest movie installment. My friend, Krystal, and I have already bought our tickets. Unfortunately, we had to buy them for the 13th at noon. We would have bought tickets for the 11th at midnight, but by being students at BYU-I we have a curfew we must abide by. I don’t care though. I still get to be in the costume contest. Yes, you heard me: the costume contest.

I have currently made a scarf, sash, and two braids to go around my arm warmers. I’ll also be wearing my Gryffindor t-shirt. I’m going to look so hot. (Whatever. *rolls eyes*) If I’m lucky, I’ll win the contest. For Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, we dressed up as well but we didn’t win. What a shame, too. They chose someone who wore a red bandanna and a shark tooth necklace. How many pirates do you think actually wore a red bandanna? Seriously?

Anyway, I think the part I’m most excited about is Dumbledore’s Army. I want to see a bunch of teenagers kick the trash out of some Death Eaters. I also want to see them obtain the Room of Requirement. I hope it looks like what I imagined. So far everything else has been how I’ve imagined, so I have high hopes. There are only 8 more days!
