First Time...

Golfing. Yeah, you heard me. (Technically read but maybe we'll discuss that later.) My mother has been on this golfing trip lately since she works for Golf Galaxy. Who knew that it would spread out to the family. The weather has been amazing for the last little while and my mother thought it would be a good idea to take us golfing. (Us meaning the boys and I.) She and Dad had just finished golfing on Par 3 course Monday when she came up with this idea.

I wasn't sure about it because I've never been a good golfer. Sure Dad would take us to driving ranges and we would hit some golf balls, but I was never able to get the ball to go that far. I would get frustrated and give up on it. I'm sure my siblings could attest to that. Recently though I've tried to pay attention to Dad and what he has been telling me all these years. And wouldn't you know? I can actually hit a golf ball... sort of.

We went on Thursday to a golf course not too far from us. Let me tell you, I was totally expecting a normal size par 3 golf course. I was so wrong. The longest hole on this course was 128 yds. and the shortest 88 yds. I believe. That was nice. I didn't have to worry about swinging 14 times just to get to the green.

At the beginning we were going to keep score. We lost the pencil for the card by the second hole. Then we used a tee for the card to mark it up. Then we lost the card sometime between the sixth and eighth hole. Oh well. I would have liked to known how I did. I do know that I didn't go over 9 and not under 5. So I don't think I did terrible.

All in all, it was fun. (Minus the sunburn.) I learned some new stuff. Oh, and I started to take pictures but I realized that when we were done none of them were of me. I suppose I can still put some up if you all want me to.

I enjoyed going golfing when I went. I think I went with your dad and Grandad. We did 9 holes. I sucked, but it was still fun. I'm glad you tried it out and had a good time (other than the sunburn).

Wait...your Mon AND Dad went golfing together and they aren't sleeping in seperate rooms? Huh. Curious. AND you have inspired me to go to the range and hit a bucket...I can strap Bug in his stroller and give Tay a club.

I am glad you had fun. It's odd the things we enjoy when we just give them a chance.
