Avatar

Unless you have been living under a rock, I'm pretty sure that you've heard about the movie Avatar. I wasn't sure that I would like it when hearing about it. I had an idea of what the story was but I was skeptical. It's also been getting a lot of hype and sometimes those movies aren't cracked-up to what they were supposed to be.

I'm glad that I saw it with the boys and Dad. I liked it a lot. Throughout the whole movie though I kept having to prepare myself that this wasn't going to end the way I wanted to. It just seemed like it could have been one of those movies. I'm glad that it didn't. Dad thought that some of the ending seemed a little tree-hugger. I didn't take it like that at all. I'm not entirely sure how he picked it up like that. O.o

I like how everything was done in the movie. It was very imaginative and new. The world of the Omaticaya was so different than anything I've seen before. It was very cool. The human world was also a lot more sci-fi than I originally thought it would be but I should have expected that. I especially enjoyed watching this movie in 3D. This is the first movie that I had no problem watching in 3D. I think it enhanced everything on the screen. Dad isn't so sure about that.

Encase none of you know the basis of the story I'll try and give a short synopsis. Humans have left Earth and gone to a new planet called Pandora. Jake Sully is the main character, a human and Marine. He finds out that his twin brother had been killed and is offered to take his place in the Avatar Program. He accepts and becomes a driver of an Omaticaya that the humans created for his brother. Since Jake is a twin then his genetic code matches that of his brother and so can 'drive' this avatar. He goes out in Pandora with other drivers and finds himself in some trouble. He runs into Ney-Tiri and that's when the real story begins. I'll let you see the movie yourself to figure out the rest. ;)

I'm still not sure about it. I'm sure we'll see it just because, but I'm not sure.... I'm glad you liked it.
