Since Amber, Greg, Jared, and Grandparents are coming into town at the end of the month, I decided to finally get the sewing machine off of the kitchen table. I figured that it wouldn't be a good idea to have sewing nick-nacks with a toddler running around the house. So I had a goal to get everything that I wanted to sew done this week. Well, I made that goal today. =D Here's what came out of this week's sewing adventures.
I designed this skirt about a month ago and finally got around to making since I didn't have to worry about my sketchbook anymore. The design only came to me when I was sniffing around the fabric remnants in storage. The fabrics are actually from leftover Halloween costumes; the white isn't, however. It's a lot of fun to where and I'm going to wear it this coming Sunday. It poofs out a bit, but I think that makes it more fun. >w<
I call this my 'Link' bag. It's made with the same fabrics as my Link costume, and with the painted Triforce the name just seems to fit. I like it a lot. Lots of pockets and the strap is even adjustable at the top.
And finally (finished the sewing parts today) my Link costume. This is still a WIP (work in progress) though. I still need to make the shield and buy a wig and ears. I know where I'm going to buy them though, so I know how much money I'll have to save. I also have to redo the gloves as soon as I can get my hands on some fabric that looks like leather and not this vinyl. It'll be the only way that I can make fingerless gloves properly. I'm really happy with this costume. It makes me happy to know that I've made everything here except for the sword and its sheath. I can't wait for Halloween now. *o*
