Mini Kitty Amigurumi

After we had lunch yesterday with mom, I dragged the boys to JoAnn's since they dragged me to Fry's. We ended up being there for a good hour, so my revenge was the to have the boys sit in the car waiting for me to get some stuff. I got a smaller hook, more safety eyes, and fuzzy white yarn. (The yarn was on sale too. =D)

When we got home Dad wanted to go swimming before he had to go to Scouts. So I didn't get a chance to start my newest project until late last night. I thought of trying out my new hook on the fuzzy yarn but that didn't work too well. Then I thought of using string. Couldn't find the string so I found my embroidery floss/thread. I started to work with it and, what do you know, it worked. This is what came out the experiment.

As you can see, he stands about 2 3/4" tall. It didn't take too long but the tiny tail proved to be more difficult than I thought. I'll have to keep that in mind when I do other miniature amigurumi. Yep. I'm thinking of trying some more this small. I may even try to do smaller. I kind of want to see how small I can go. Thank Coraline for this new craze. I found out that anything that look knitted in that movie is actually knitted. Someone sat down and knitted gloves and sweaters. They're amazing too. Maybe one day I can do the same thing. xP

What size if your small hook? Is it the tiny size you use for doilies? Or, just like a D or E?

He's pretty cute. I need to do another amigurumi, but I'm just lucky I started crocheting afghans again. ;)

It's a C hook. I normally use my G. And I think you should. I keep finding all sorts of patterns everywhere. I think I've even figured out how to do a Mario star. We'll see how that goes. ^^
