Ah, finally writing a blog post. It seems like it has been a lifetime. I would write of what I've been doing but I know that would be redundant. Amber has posted all of that and I know I'll just bore everyone to tears saying the same things over again. I was going to write about getting my haircut but I lost those pictures some how. It's not much of a difference unless I straighten my hair anyway. I just 4 or so inches shorter and has more layers.
Anywho, last Saturday we got out of the house and went to go see Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The background behind this movie is that it was first a video game made in the 90's for Play Station. Being that it did so well (as did its sequels) it got a huge fan base. This includes the boys... kind of. Parker at least passed the game and knew the story. I was just curious to see if this game-made-movie was going to be any good.
I was happy when I left the theater. I liked the story, though simple, and everyone in the movie. I had some doubts with the casting because, honestly, who would think Jake Gyllenhaal as a Persian prince? That's what I thought. Although I guess he doesn't have to be Persian since he was adopted off of the streets by the King. I got over it. I liked him as Dastan. I also liked Gemma Arterton as Tamina. I think they had chemistry, which is good if there is going to be a love connection between them.
Critics give this movie a lot of crap but we all know how critics are. They like to hear themselves talk. The movie was fun; full of action; funny; and had good CGI in it. Parker tells me that there are differences between the game and movie; but from what he told me I can see why they changed it. One thing that was changed also had something to do with Dastan and Tamina. I'm glad they changed that. What can I say? I'm a girl. I like the happy ending.
I won't really say much more about it. I figure if I tried to get a synopsis out then I may spoil it for some. So go see it for yourself! You'll enjoy it. ;)
