Pumpkin Hunting

On October 10th, I went to Black Island Farms in Syracuse to go pumpkin hunting. At first we--meaning Nett, Glenn, the kids, Grandparents, and I--tried to go to another pumpkin patch. However, that one was closed so we went to the next one. That turned out to be a good thing.

We get there and Nett buys the tickets to get on the hayride to the pumpkins. We don't do this first though. We start walking towards all the other activities that they had set out. The first activity was getting Taylor's face painted. The lady that worked on it was really fast and did a great job.

As she was doing that I was handed a map of the corn mazes. Talk about a surprise. The corn mazes were made in the images of the actors playing Jacob and Edward in New Moon. The Farm had gotten permission to make mazes with their images. The actors had to sign some paperwork to get their likenesses put there. And I wasn't told how, but Jacob won the right to getting the most acreage around his face.

We continued on by doing all sorts of other activities; most of which were aimed towards children. Bug even had a good time playing in the corn box. Taylor loved to go down the slides, as did Bug when Glenn brought him up to the top and let him go. Taylor wouldn't go down the bigger ones without me accompaning her.

After the smaller activities we headed towards the Edward maze. We decided to do that maze because it was starting to get late and Edward's maze was the shortest of the two. With Nett's great skill of navigation we got through it in 15 mins. That's when we ate for a little bit and then went on the hayride. The hayride was fun and finding the pumpkins went a lot faster than I thought it would. They had so many great ones. At first I chose one but then I changed my mind to another one. Me being the silly person that I am, only got a picture of the first pumpkin I chose and not the one I ended up with. xD Oh well.

It was a lot of fun; and all those Twilight fans better get there to walk the mazes.
